Briana – DLU Lash Alumni Success Story
I’m Briana, owner of Studio 1418 Co. and co-owner of Luxevo Suites in El Paso, Texas.
When I first picked up a pair of tweezers, I just wanted to create something beautiful that made people feel good. Lashing quickly became more than a side hustle it turned into my creative outlet and the foundation for everything I’m building now.
How lash extensions sparked my love for beauty
Lash extensions are what pulled me head-first into the beauty world. Seeing how a great set can completely change someone’s confidence is what made me fall in love with the industry. That passion naturally led me to branch into hair extensions, and now I’m in cosmetology school so I’ll have no limits on the services I can offer.
Challenges & how I worked through them
Like most lash artists, I struggled with retention at first. Instead of getting discouraged, I invested in better education and simplified my products so I could figure out exactly what worked for my clients and environment. Building a steady clientele was another challenge, but staying consistent with my policies and client experience helped me grow faster than I expected.
How DFW Lash University helped me grow
DLU gave me a solid foundation both in technique and in the business side of lashing. The mentorship and community were huge. It made the leap from student to professional way less scary.
Advice & future goals
For beginners: Focus on your prep and isolation before you worry about speed. Take photos of your work and don’t be afraid to set boundaries early.
For experienced techs: Keep learning. Update your prices when your skill grows and protect your body and your time.
My next step is continuing to grow Studio 1418 Co. as a luxury lash and hair brand, offering lash and hair extensions, blowout memberships, and eventually more education and retail products while finishing cosmetology school so I can keep expanding what I offer without limits. I’m also excited to keep building Luxevo Salon Suites, giving other beauty pros a beautiful space to grow their own businesses.
